ConvertKit is becoming Kit
The creator economy has evolved a lot since ConvertKit began 11 years ago. And we’ve evolved with it.
Our platform has grown far beyond its original function of helping creators like you convert your audience into customers. Today, you use our features to connect, grow, automate, launch, create, earn, and so much more.
It’s clear: you’re a creator who means business. As we look ahead to the next decade, we have big goals to help make your business even more valuable.
So, we’re making a change in service of this vision.
We’re rebranding to Kit.
And this is more than just a name change.
As Kit, our product philosophy is all about scalability and giving you the actionable insights you need to grow your business. And because each creator business is unique, the features in your Kit can be tailored just for you.
We’re building the operating system for the creator economy. That starts with:
- An app store where anyone can develop and expand on Kit to bring in extra tools
- A central hub for your data with enhanced reporting to pull insights from
- And the biggest and best Creator Network to help you find new collaboration partners
This comes alongside improvements to the features you already know and love using to run your business.
And because we know that scale matters, we’re investing in performance to ensure our platform works as fast as you do.
We’re also investing in the next generation of creators by introducing the Newsletter Plan, which is free for up to 10,000 subscribers. Because now more than ever, we believe the future belongs to creators.
And we still believe in the initial values we set for our company—like working in public, defaulting to generosity, and teaching everything we know.
That’s why we’re rebranding in public.
Over the next few months, you can expect updates from us about the rebranding process, the challenges we’ve encountered, and what we’ve learned as we work on officially becoming Kit in October.
It’s our hope that you can apply these learnings when you’re defining and evolving the brand for your business. And we’ll ask for your input at key moments to help us create a brand that truly resonates with you as a creator.
You’ve done a lot with ConvertKit over the years (like sending 112.3 billion emails, earning $32.1M through ConvertKit Commerce and gaining 5.8M subscribers from Recommendations), but we know that’s only the beginning.
We’re excited to go on this journey with you and to be your Kit for engaging your audience and building a more valuable business. Still have questions? Read our FAQs.

Still have questions?
Why are you rebranding to Kit?
For a while, we’ve felt that our current name no longer reflects the scale of our mission and vision. ConvertKit sounds too technical, too niche, and it doesn’t fully capture everything that creators do with our platform.
We wanted a name for our company that was:
- Tied to our mission
- One word
- Easy to hear and spell over the phone
- Not too technical
Kit checks all those boxes, and gives us a great starting point for building a new brand identity while staying connected to our 11+ years of experience serving creators as ConvertKit.
Didn’t you try to change your name once before? Why will this time be different?
Back in 2018 we changed our name to Seva (a Sanskrit word that means “selfless service”). After we announced the change, we started hearing from creators who had genuine concerns about the name. We listened, learned, and decided to change our name back to ConvertKit. You can read more about that decision here.
When the opportunity arose to own kit.com, we learned from that past experience. We took our time to conduct more research and speak with creators to get their feedback before making our decision.
Ultimately, we see Kit as a natural evolution of ConvertKit. It’s already part of our name, and because we help creators do more than just convert, our name will now reflect that too.
What’s changing in the product?
In addition to a new look and feel, as Kit we’ll be embracing a product philosophy that’s all about scalability, customization, and actionable insights.
To live out this philosophy, we’re working on developing an app store, enhanced reporting, overhauling our landing pages, adding more email marketing capabilities, and other great improvements so that we can continue to give you the tools you need to run your business as a professional creator.
A kit has everything you need. We’ll build the features, and you can pick and choose which ones fit in your kit to grow your business.
When should I start calling you Kit?
We will officially become Kit in October. Until then, we’ll be saying we’re “ConvertKit – Soon to be Kit”.
Are you still focused on creators?
Absolutely. Helping creators earn a living remains our number one priority as a business. We’re excited about the future of the creator economy and the role we’ll play in it.
Does this change how I log in to my ConvertKit account?
Nope. All of your account information, including login details, will remain unchanged. You can continue to access your account as usual. When we officially become Kit in October and switch over our URLs, we’ll have redirects in place to make sure you have no trouble logging in.
What will change as part of the rebrand?
Our rebrand involves a new name, brand strategy, brand identity, and philosophy for our product to make it more valuable for you as a creator.
Once we roll out our new branding in October, you can expect to see a new and improved look and feel when you log in to your account (including a new logo and color palette). We’ll also be updating our website.
Our URL will change to kit.com, and if you visit convertkit.com you’ll be automatically redirected to the new version of our site.
When you receive payments from our monetization features, they’ll come from Kit.
Will my subscription price go up?
No, the pricing of our Creator and Creator Pro Plans will not change. Instead, we are introducing a new plan called the Newsletter Plan, which is free for up to 10,000 subscribers. Find out more here.
What does this mean for affiliates?
As ConvertKit evolves into Kit, we’re not just changing our name – we’re ramping up your ability to earn. With the introduction of our app store, Newsletter Plan, enhanced reporting, and much more, you’ll be able to attract and convert audiences like never before.
If you’re an affiliate (or would like to become one), here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Our affiliate program recently moved to PartnerStack and affiliates were asked to switch to new affiliate links. When we become Kit, you will not have to change your affiliate links again.
- We recommend prepping your audience for this change now, by referring to us as ConvertKit – Soon to be Kit in any new affiliate content you put out.
- Once we officially become Kit in October, we will provide you with updated logos, graphics, and other materials to help you through the process of updating evergreen content. We know it will take some time and don’t expect these changes to happen overnight.
